GainPeace Hosts an Educational Conference for New Muslims
(07/30/2008, Chicago, IL) - Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) through its outreach project, GainPeace, is hosting its 3rd Annual Regional Revert’s Conference for new Muslims and their families from the Midwestern States. Families are invited to be part of this momentous occasion and benefit from the multitude of presentations and workshops geared towards the educational and spiritual needs of new Muslims.
This conference will be held on August 9th, 2008 at Lake Ridge Pointe, 1000 Burr ridge Parkway, Burr Ridge, IL 60527.
Prominent Muslim speakers are invited to impart their knowledge and enlighten the attendees; some of whom include: Shaykh Yusuf Estes, former Christian preacher from Virginia; Ama Shabazz from Lexington, KY; Yusha Evans, former youth minister; and Dr. Syed Warsi, of GainPeace, Chicago.
Sticking to the main theme of this conference, Islam – Learning, Living and Sharing, presentations will cover the following essential topics: challenges of living as a new Muslim in USA, clearing misconceptions regarding Islam and social and personal issue specific to new Muslims.
There are 1.5 Billion Muslims around the world and 8 million in United States. Muslims believe in Prophet Muhammad as the last messenger from God. Islam is the fastest growing faith in USA with 45, 000 new converts to Islam each year, mostly women.
ICNA is one of the largest, non-profit, independent, grass roots organizations of Muslim Americans with twenty five chapters and affiliates in USA. Its mission is to promote proper understanding of Islam and Muslims.
