(02/08/2010, Kansas City, KS) –Islamic Circle of North America, Kansas City and
Gain Peace, an out-reach project of Islamic Circle of North America, are
launching a bold venture in its public awareness campaign by placing ads about
Islam using various venues.Starting Monday (Feb 8th), the I-435 South highway
near ISGKC Masjid (Mosque) will be beautified with an Islamic Billboard inviting
the people to learn about Islam. Our non-Muslims neighbors can call the Gain
Peace Hotline: 1-800-662-ISLAM to get their questions answered about Islam. This
north facing billboard unit reaches ~53,000 people travelling daily on I-435
South highway. The billboard will remain for four weeks, God willing. During the
billboard campaign, our larger KC community will also be listening to the
message of Islam via KMBZ 980 AM radio. The radio campaign is expected to reach
a total population of 1.2M people, God willing.
The invitation to listen to the message of Islam does not stop there. ICNAKC
will be mailing out "One-Minute Islam Flier" to 10,000 households in the zip
codes: 64133, 64136, and 64138 with the help of Valpak, encouraging the people
to learn about Islam through our hotline, God willing.
In addition, the Kansas City Star newspaper will be publishing our "invitation"
to learn the message of Islam for a month. God willing, the outreach campaign
will then culminate with an OPEN HOUSE to pass on the message directly to our
non-Muslim neighbors and to give them an opportunity to clarify misconceptions
about Islam.
There are 1.5 Billion Muslims around the world and 8 million in United States.
